Wall Street Journal

The frist time i found out that i will have to read the newspaper i found that a little distrubing
Because i ever since i can remember i hated the way they made the newspapers, because the papers were way long and had alot of words , not to mention hard to handle . Therefore i started to think that this will not work for me , however after seriously reading the wall street journal i have learned alot, in fact i believe i learned alot more than if i was reading a text book. I remember learning about all the different companies that were going out of business and also the ones that were planing on buying other companies, i also remember reading about new electronics like the nook and all the compition that was surronded with it. i definately perfer wall street than reading a text book. Text book sometimes makes one feel like their is no connection with real life while on the other hand wall street was real life . Despite all the interesting details and useful information that can be found in the wall street journal i will not be renewing my subscription, because after paying for the subscription several of my papers were not delieverd, even after i called and reported the issue therefore i had to look for the articles online. Thankfully they were always there.

The Road

I was a bit disappointed by the movie, although it mostly told the story almost exactly like it was in the book. The reason for my disappointment is i couldn't not over look the fact that the boy was that old, in the book it seemed like the boy was about six or maybe even five, but the boy in the movie was much other than that. So for me it took away the logic , i do not think kids the boy`s age would be so naive as he was portrayed in the book. however what i did like about the movie is that it was almost exactly how i imagined the events happening in the book , so i think they did a great job with that like when they found the bunker and the man was bathing the boy and all the dirt that came off them was exactly how i see it happening in the book. Also what i did not like was the fact that the environment was alot more sunny than what i was expecting. What i liked was the fact that all the people they found in one of the houses was exaclty how it was descried in the book, the naked starving people who were being kept to be eaten by other humans. What i didnt like was where they were hiding from the people i think they could have made it more believable they were in plain sight in thee woods when the man shot the man who was trying take the boy. However i liked the part when he man was going to kill the boy, it was exactly like the book described it. Overall i prefer the book , because it seemed more real.

Social - Networking

Carla Reid

The most popular social network would have to be face book. I use face book the most . the reason i like face book the most is , i get to reconnect with old friends from elementary and high school. Also i get to play games like farm ville ,where i get to create my little farm and maintain it, also i get to make my own restaurant and employ my friends, this is both fun and funny. Most importantly i get to see what my friends are thinking and doing as soon as they update their status. i also get to talk to them as soon as they are online, which makes me feel like the are right next to me instead of two thousand miles away. What i dislike most about face book is that people use it as there only means of communication, they avoid face to face contact , or just a simple phone call. I would never pay for this service. Why should i pay for it , i see no point in doing so that idea seems unrealistic to me. Because only people who can avoid it would have it and based on how things are today not a lot of people would be able to avoid it , so in no time face book would only be a memory .

Film Viewing

Carla Reid
October 18,2009

Films should be viewed at home with friends and family or, by yourself. I see no point in going to the theater and paying at least eight dollars to watch an hour long movie. i think its just a waste of time and money. Because not only is one paying for the movie but one also paid for gas , popcorn and maybe even parking. I see nothing wrong with renting a DVD for five dollars buying a box of popcorn for at least two dollars which a can serve for more than one movies, Instead of a small bag of popcorn for seven dollars . I think the theater is just another smart idea to steal people`s money. Therefore I prefer to just wait the to wait until the movie is out of the theater and at blockbuster. where I can rent it and watch as many times as I would like , instead of wasting money going to the theater where I would only be able to watch the movie once and just be left with only memories of the movie for eight dollars.
One advantage of renting a DVD , is that I am at the comfort of my own home. I will be able to put the DVD into my lap top lie in bed with my blanket and popcorn and watch it. I will be able to pause it , rewind it for as many times as possible. With no worries of anyone yelling out the ending or laughing too loudly . Even worst interrupting it with a phone call. I do not understand why someone would give up watching movies at the comfort of your home for anything in the world.
